BACK AND NECK

Your back and neck (your spine) let you stand upright, bend, and twist. The spine, also called the backbone, supports the weight of your head and body and protects the spinal cord. The spinal cord connects your body to your brain.

SHOULDER

From scratching your back to painting or playing sports, your shoulders let you move further, and in more ways, than almost any other joint in your body. At the same time, however, this flexibility makes the shoulders more unstable and more likely to get injured, especially from sports, physical work, or accidents.

HIP

The hip lets you walk, run, and jump. They support the weight of your body. Disease or injury to the hip can make doing everyday things like taking a walk or getting up from a chair painful.

KNEE

Your knee gives you the flexibility, strength, and stability needed to stand, walk, run, turn, and make other movements. One of the biggest and most complex joints, the knee supports the weight of your body.

ANKLE

Your ankle lets your foot move up and down and from side to side. While it is strong enough to support the weight of your body, it’s also easily injured. Even a minor injury can be painful.
